Located in the DinoLand U.S.A. area, The Boneyard has been a favorite for younger guests, offering shaded climbing areas, dig pits, and interactive features themed around paleontology and excavation. Its closure comes as part of the ongoing transformation of the land into Tropical Americas, a new 11-acre area inspired by Central and South American environments and cultures.

Disney has confirmed that a new play area for kids will be included in Tropical Americas when it opens in 2027. While specific details about that space have yet to be released, Disney says it will be part of a broader family-friendly offering that also includes a ride-through attraction based on Encanto and a new Indiana Jones adventure.

With The Boneyard now joining TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures in permanent closure, the only remaining parts of the old DinoLand still operating are DINOSAUR, Restaurantosaurus, Dino-Bite Snacks, and Trilo-Bites.

If you are hoping to enjoy one final dig at The Boneyard, plan to visit before 6:00 pm tonight.
