Akasa Air announced on Saturday that it is reviewing the possibility of gradually restarting flights to Abu Dhabi following ongoing safety assessments, even as it extended the suspension of services to and from Doha, Riyadh and Kuwait until April 12, 2026.

The decision to evaluate Abu Dhabi operations comes as carriers cautiously reassess routes impacted by the volatile situation in the Middle East. The airline said it is closely monitoring developments and will take a call on resumption based on real-time conditions.

“Following our ongoing safety assessment and a review of the prevailing situation in the Middle East we continue to operate flights to/from Jeddah and Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kochi and Kozhikode. Further, we continue to progressively evaluate resumption of flights to/from Abu Dhabi,” the airline said.

At the same time, Akasa Air confirmed that flights on key Gulf routes of Doha, Riyadh and Kuwait will remain suspended for now.


The airline added that it continues to operate flights to Jeddah while maintaining its domestic network across Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kochi and Kozhikode.
“Following our ongoing safety assessment and a review of the prevailing situation in the Middle East we continue to operate flights to/from Jeddah and Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kochi and Kozhikode. Moreover, To support affected passengers, the airline has extended its waiver on cancellation and rescheduling charges for bookings on these routes. Travellers can opt for a full refund, to be credited within seven days, or reschedule their journey without any additional cost.

Passengers have been advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport, as operations remain subject to change.

Meanwhile, to minimise inconvenience, Akasa Air has extended its waiver on cancellation and rescheduling charges for passengers booked on affected routes. Travellers have the option to seek a full refund, which will be processed within seven days to the original mode of payment, or reschedule their journey without incurring additional charges.

“Akasa Air has extended its cancellation/rescheduling charges waiver policy for passengers booked to or from these cities until April 12, 2026. Passengers may opt for a full refund, credited to the original source of payment within 7 days, or reschedule their travel at no additional cost. If your booking was made through a travel partner, please check directly with them for assistance,” the statement from the airline further read.

The airline advised passengers who booked through travel agents to contact their respective partners for assistance.
