Chairman of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday formally inaugurated the Shahrah-e-Bhutto Expressway in Karachi.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Acting Governor Sindh Owais Qadir Shah, federal and provincial ministers, lawmakers and senior government officials.
According to the Sindh government, the 39-kilometre expressway has been constructed at a cost of over Rs40 billion and will provide connectivity from Qayyumabad to Kathore on the M-9 Motorway.
Sindh Minister for Auqaf, Religious Affairs, Zakat and Ushr Syed Riaz Hussain Shah Shirazi said the project would help reduce travel time and traffic congestion while supporting commercial and economic activities in the city.
He added that the project was part of the Sindh government’s broader urban development and transport infrastructure plans for Karachi.
