In the picturesque Garden State, landscapes aren’t just beautiful when everything is in bloom. They’re just as scenic in autumn, when burnt reds, yellows and oranges practically beg you to hit the road and get a glimpse for yourself.
A fall drive is also romantic – lingering conversations with the windows cracked, cozy blankets and shifting light.
Gunther Volkswagen Coconut Creek surveyed more than 3,000 couples to see which fall drives were the most romantic in New Jersey, and to no local’s surprise, the Delaware River Scenic Byway was tops.
Voted as the most romantic fall drive in the state, the Delaware River Scenic Byway runs along the Delaware River through towns like Frenchtown and Lambertville while blending shimmering waters with colonial-era charm.
On this riverside escape where history, beauty and romance flow together, couples can’t help but relish in the amber and crimson hillsides before stopping at a quiet art gallery or cafe.
In the survey, the Delaware River Scenic Byway was followed by the Pine Barrens Scenic Byway and the Palisades Interstate Parkway.
