Dakota Johnson is embracing her newfound single life with a European vacation alongside her close friend Kate Hudson. 

The Materialists actress was spotted dining with Hudson, entrepreneur Douglas Chabbott, and her agent Maha Dakhil in Rome on June 28. 

The pair’s girls’ trip comes just a few weeks after multiple outlets reported that Dakota and Chris Martin had called it quits on their nearly eight-year relationship.

On July 1, Dakota and Kate took a break from the sun to enjoy a cruise off the coast of Ibiza, Spain. Photos published by People magazine show the pair lounging on a large white raft with a friend, swimming in the water, and soaking up the sun in their bikinis. The carefree photos showcase the actresses’ strong friendship and their ability to have fun together.

Neither Dakota nor Chris has publicly spoken about their breakup, which is consistent with their private approach to their romance. In a 2021 interview with Elle, Dakota mentioned that she and Chris preferred to keep their love life out of the spotlight due to their intense work schedules. 

“We’ve been together for quite a while, and we go out sometimes,” Dakota said. “But we both work so much that it’s nice to be at home and be cozy and private.”
