World's Biggest LEGOLAND Opens In Shanghai On July 5: Here's What Fans Can Experience

The Shanghai resort will become the largest LEGOLAND in the world and the first in China. Officially opening on July 5, 2025, the amusement park features eight themed sections inspired by LEGO, and one of the highlights will be the mini LEGO replica of Shanghai’s waterfront and the skyscrapers of the Lujiazui financial district.

LEGOLAND in Shanghai: Key details

The LEGOLAND Shanghai is spread across 318,000 square metres of the Jinshan district, and is divided into a theme park and a hotel. Over 85 million LEGO bricks have been used to create this toy wonderland. It features eight sections like Ninjago, Lego Friends, and Monkie Kid lands. It is a joint venture of Merlin Entertainments and the Shanghai Jinshan District local government, reported Reuters.

Key features of LEGOLAND Shanghai:

  • Over 75 rides, shows and attractions in the park.
  • The heart of the amusement park is ‘Miniland’, where you can find a replica of Shanghai. It took 168,000 hours to complete and approximately 20 million bricks to make Miniland.
  • LEGOLAND Shanghai will feature the world’s first Big LEGO Coaster and a 60-metre-tall LEGOLAND Observation Tower.
  • The world’s first LEGO Monkie Kid Live show, ‘Battle for Flower Fruit Mountain’, will entertain children with multiple projection effects and large-scale themed props.
  • LEGOLAND Hotel will feature 250 themed rooms, along with dining venues offering meals with LEGO-inspired presentations.
  • LEGOLAND Shanghai has been designed with children aged 2-12 years in mind.

Tickets: Start from CNY 319 (approximately THB 1,445.59) for the low season; CNY 599 (approximately THB 2,714.44) for the high season.
