KLM Flight Disruption

According to the airline, the rat was first noticed during the transatlantic crossing. The crew had limited operational options due to the flight’s position over open water, so the captain continued the journey to Aruba.

Passenger Impact

A KLM spokesperson was quoted in NL Times as having said:

We don’t know how the animal got on board. The rat was discovered over the ocean. Very unfortunate for the passengers who had to experience this….The plane was flying over the ocean. The pilot didn’t really have a choice…The passengers remained calm, and the staff kept a close eye on the animal. The animal also didn’t come near the food.
