Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is set to further ramp up its operations to the United Kingdom, with the national carrier scheduled to begin four weekly flights from Islamabad to London starting March 29.

According to the airline, the new direct service from Islamabad to London will operate every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

The move marks a significant expansion of PIA’s recently revived UK network and is aimed at catering to strong demand from the Pakistani diaspora and business travelers.

Earlier this year, PIA officially announced the resumption of its flight operations to the UK after securing the necessary regulatory clearances, with services restarting on October 25.

In the first phase, the airline relaunched direct flights from Islamabad to Manchester, operating two weekly connections on Saturdays and Tuesdays.

The airline’s international expansion coincides with a major shift in its ownership. In December 2025, a Pakistani consortium led by Arif Habib Corporation won the bid to acquire a 75% stake in PIA in a televised privatization auction in Islamabad.

The winning offer was reported at around Rs. 135 billion, edging out rival bids from groups including a Lucky Cement–led consortium and Airblue.
