The Swat Serena Hotel has announced it has ceased operations effective January 1, 2026, ending nearly four decades as a key player in the Swat Valley’s hospitality sector.
In an official notice, the hotel’s management expressed gratitude to guests, partners, and associates for their support over the years, highlighting the hotel’s role in promoting tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in the Swat valley.

“We regret to announce the closure of Swat Serena Hotel’s operations, effective 1 January 2026,” the statement read.
While the Swat property is closing, Serena Hotels emphasized that it will continue to welcome guests at its other locations across Asia and Africa.
The group currently operates 33 hotels, including 10 in Pakistan, and reaffirmed its commitment to delivering high-quality service and memorable experiences at its remaining properties.
