The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has established pre-departure facilitation desks at all its zonal offices across the country to assist international travelers, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said on Sunday.
Announcing the initiative on X, the interior minister said the desks have become operational with immediate effect. According to the FIA, the facilitation desks aim to guide travelers on immigration requirements and travel documentation to help avoid difficulties at airports.
The FIA set up the desks in all eleven of its zones, including the G/6 zonal office in Islamabad. Travelers can also seek information through designated helplines and email services.
An FIA spokesperson said the desks will operate with experienced immigration staff assigned to assist the public. The teams include assistant directors, inspectors, and sub-inspectors.
The spokesperson said immigration staff will provide information on required visa documents, travel categories, return ticket requirements, and permissible currency limits.
FIA zonal offices operate in major cities including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta, along with regional offices in Gujranwala, Faisalabad, and Multan. The initiative follows complaints from passengers regarding offloading at airports despite holding valid travel documents.
