The City Traffic Police in Murree have introduced a free vehicle recovery service for residents and tourists to support traffic management and provide timely assistance during emergencies in the hill station.

The police launched the service on the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Authorities implemented the initiative by deploying modern recovery vehicles, according to a City Traffic Police spokesperson.

Chief Traffic Officer Murree Imran Razaq said the service offers free assistance to motorists whose vehicles break down or become involved in accidents anywhere in Murree and nearby areas. He said traffic police recovery vehicles will transport disabled or accident-damaged vehicles to the nearest workshop to prevent congestion and ensure road safety.

Razaq cited a recent incident in which a tourist from Lahore faced difficulty after his vehicle broke down on Bariyan Road while returning from Ayubia.

The tourist contacted the traffic control room, after which a traffic sergeant reached the location and arranged a recovery vehicle. The police team safely moved the vehicle to a nearby workshop.
