Australia-based My Cruises confirmed its chartering of Oceania Cruises’ Regatta for a second year starting in late 2027.
According to a report by Latte Luxury News Media, the tour operator will use the vessel to offer a second world cruise under the Explorations by Norwegian brand.
My Cruises reportedly said that the decision was based on strong demand for “ultra-long immersive travel experiences.”
Explorations by Norwegian will launch service in September 2026, with the Regatta kicking off a 360-day-plus world cruise aimed at Australian and New Zealand passengers.
As part of the newly announced expansion, the 684-guest ship is set to offer a second year-long cruise during the 2027-28 season.
The new itinerary will sail to over 230 destinations around the world and includes a circumnavigation of Australia.
Passengers will be able to board the Regatta for the complete voyage or for shorter segments starting at ten nights.
Global Head of Cruise at My Cruises, Michael Middleton, was quoted as saying that the response for the inaugural season confirmed a “strong appetite” for the product.
“Explorations by Norwegian has proven the demand for longer, more immersive journeys with premium inclusions,” he said.
“Many early guests opted for Balcony, Penthouse or higher categories, highlighting the appetite for elevated experiences.”
Latte Luxury News Media said that the 2027-28 itinerary includes a range of new destinations and enhancements based on guest feedback.
Among the highlights of the new cruise are visits to Kenya, the Philippines, Borneo and Taiwan, as well as departures from Dubai, Istanbul and Bali.
“For the first time, we curated a world cruise experience with the Australian and New Zealand cruisers front of mind, and the response has been incredible,” Middleton added.
In related news, Oceania Cruises recently announced plans to transition to an adults-only operation starting this month.
While bookings that already include guests under the age of 18 will still be honored, new reservations will only welcome adults.
