With dazzling original shows and ship-wide immersive entertainment on the new Star Princess, Rebecca Foley, head of global entertainment for Princess, leads the fleet’s future in engaging, entertaining and involving passengers.

With her 26 years in entertainment, Foley brings to the table a wealth of experience and is a former professional dancer herself.  “I want the very best, best performances,” she told Cruise Industry News.

“I oversee everything in entertainment. That includes live music, theatrical shows, activities around the ship, guest entertainers, and on the stateroom televisions,” Foley said. “It is entertainment but coming from operations, and it really matters to me that the entire operation is a smooth process. It’s how I work with the entire team to make sure we have a cohesive program as we address our present and future guests.”

Not one costume goes out to a ship unless she has seen it.

“Anyone who knows me is aware I want to be part of the entire creative process from the beginning to the end, so I’m completely involved every step of the way.  Also, it is not only just about production teams but my entire team must be a part of the process.”

Foley said that she wants the passengers to actually feel they are part of the shows in the Arena, Piazza, or taking in the made-from-scratch, new-to-the Princess Star exclusively, the celestial champagne soiree waterfall under the stars.

“It can be a live music set, theatrical show, or enjoying our roaming musicians.

“We’re about connectivity and community, and we have to draw in our guests so they feel like they are a part of it. And when passengers enjoy the Candlelight concerts series under the Dome, you are so involved in the sound surrounding you and enhanced by hundreds of glowing candles.”

Heading up the new lineup on the Star Princess is Meridian, with its masked ball setting, inspired by the globally recognized historical piece Bridgeton and the vibrant and breath-taking Illuminate which held up to its description of a spectacle of joy circus-theme filled with pop music and illusion.
