Motoring association, the AA, has released a list of the most popular UK road trips and it’s a route across the south of the county which takes the crown.
Swanage to Lyme Regis came out on top of the AA/Yonder survey, showing that 23 per cent of drivers have made the journey.
The stunning route covers 53 miles and takes around one and a half hours to complete.

Edmund King, president at the AA, said: “Road trips are a summer staple for many drivers, and we are spoilt for choice of routes here in the UK.
“The preferred scenery for drivers is open countryside and coastal roads so it’s understandable why the Jurassic Coast has proved to be the most popular road trip and why so many people have enjoyed this journey.”
Close behind in the survey with 22 per cent is neighbouring county, Devon with the Atlantic Highway route from Barnstable to Newquay in Cornwall.
In keeping with the UK’s number one road trip being along the Jurassic Coastline, the AA is launching a partnership with the new Hollywood film, Jurassic World Rebirth from Universal Pictures.
To mark the launch of the new film, four special vans will hit the roads to rescue AA members this summer with their iconic yellow vans being swapped for a Jurassic World Rebirth themed vehicle.

Existing AA members also have the chance to win a glamping experience on the Jurassic Coast, whilst new members can win a trip to France.
Ria Purser, head of brand marketing at the AA, said: “Thanks to our partnership with Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s Jurassic World Rebirth, we have three fantastic competitions running, one of which gives AA members the chance to win a glamping trip on the Jurassic Coast.”
