We love road trips year-round, but there’s something about a summer getaway that just hits every single time. And if you’re excited to explore small towns, visit new restaurants and breweries, and spend cozy little weekends surrounded by nature this season, then Basecamp EVL will be exactly your vibe.
Welcome to Basecamp EVL
Located about an hour south of Buffalo in the heart of Ellicottville, Basecamp EVL is a tiny cabin village that gives you all of the whimsy of camping, with all of the comforts of a hotel.
How do they do that? For starters, every luxury cabin is thoughtfully designed with both aesthetics and utility in mind. Inside, you’ll find all of the amenities you actually want, including a full kitchen, private bathroom, washer and dryer, and maybe most importantly, that sweet sweet air conditioning. (Which comes in clutch in the summertime.) But outside, you’ll still be treated to the peacefulness of a nature retreat, with gorgeous mountain views right outside your window.
Pet-friendly? Yep.
Fire pits and grills available? Absolutely.
Easy to book for large groups? 100%.
The kind of place you’ll want to come back to every season? Without a doubt.
Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway with your partner, a bachelor or bachelorette weekend, or a solo escape for a much needed detox from screens, Basecamp EVL makes it easy to unwind the way you want to.
Here’s a look at the different cabin types you can book this summer:
The Studios
Want to test-drive tiny living? Whistler and Tahoe offer a cozy, minimal vibe that still feels elevated. Each studio has a rustic-modern design and sleeps four comfortably, with a queen bed in a lofted sleeping space and a sleeper sofa on the first floor.
The Bungalows
For something a little bit bigger, but still just as peaceful, Basecamp’s four bungalows—Steamboat, Breckenridge, Telluride, and Vail—sit along scenic Plum Creek. Expect peaceful views and unique architectural details like 12-foot ceilings and transom windows that give off gorgeous natural lighting.
The Lofts
For the most flexible sleeping setup, check out Basecamp’s Loft Cabins: Chamonix, Zermatt, Jackson Hole, and Park City. Each one includes a private bedroom and a lofted living space with a second queen bed—so you can bring another couple or spread out with friends and still have your own zones to chill.
The Chalet
If your idea of tiny living includes a little more room to stretch, the Aspen Chalet (#6) is for you. This is Basecamp’s largest cabin—and it’s a total showstopper.
With 800 square feet, 14-foot ceilings, two bedrooms, and a queen sleeper sofa, this space sleeps up to six and includes an open living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and expansive windows that look out over Plum Creek and the wooded hillside leading up to Holimont.
All of Basecamp EVL’s cabins are under a mile from the Village of Ellicottville, so you’ll be close to restaurants, nightlife, and shops—but still tucked far enough into nature to truly unwind. Which makes them ideal for family getaways, birthday celebrations, or any other special events you’ve got coming up this season.
Head to their website to browse available cabins and book your stay directly, or find them on Airbnb and Vrbo.
