Three Existing Radisson Blu Meetings and Events Hotels in Norway to Join Radisson Hotel Group’s Verified Net Zero Hotels Program

Three Existing Radisson Blu Meetings and Events Hotels in Norway to Join Radisson Hotel Group’s Verified Net Zero Hotels Program

Radisson Hotel Group today announced that three existing Norwegian properties will join its Verified Net Zero Hotels program before summer 2026: Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Bergen; Radisson Blu Royal Garden Hotel, Trondheim; and Radisson Blu Hotel, Tromsø. Together, the three hotels offer more than 900 guest rooms, 46 meetings and event spaces, and capacity for over 1,300 delegates. Their conversion marks the next step for the program, extending Verified Net Zero to established upper-upscale hotels with substantial meetings and events operations.

Building on the Group’s Verified Net Zero hotels in Manchester and Oslo, the expansion shows that net zero hospitality at scale is not limited to new-build properties or individual showcase projects. Instead, it can be applied to existing hotels already operating with complex infrastructure, high guest turnover, and major conference activity.

The excellent results from the Manchester and Oslo Verified Net Zero hotels support the expansion of this pioneering program. These hotels not only eliminate emissions from energy but also demonstrate strong carbon reduction across operational emissions. They combine high guest awareness with clear demand for sustainable meetings and events. Our guests and meeting planners can trust that every stay, meeting, and event is part of a fully verified net zero hotel experience.

Inge Huijbrechts, Chief Sustainability & Security Officer at Radisson Hotel Group

For meeting planners and corporate buyers, the relevance is practical: the three hotels show how established venues can reduce emissions while maintaining the flexibility and capacity required for large-scale business events.

Radisson Blu Royal Garden Hotel, Trondheim brings the model to one of central Norway’s most established meetings venues. Located on the Nidelven River in the city center, the hotel offers 298 rooms, 15 meeting rooms, and capacity for up to 650 guests.

Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Bergen applies the model to a major conference and events hotel next to Bryggen, Bergen’s UNESCO World Heritage waterfront. The property offers 342 rooms and 21 meetings and event spaces across 2,100 square meters.

Radisson Blu Hotel, Tromsø extends the program into the Arctic. The hotel features 269 rooms, 10 meeting rooms, and Tromsø Hall that has capacity for up to 650 delegates.

The Verified Net Zero hotels program follows a reduction-first approach. Scope 1 and 2 emissions are eliminated through electrification and renewable energy while operational Scope 3 emissions are reduced through targeted changes across food and beverage, waste, laundry, amenities, procurement, and other hotel operations. Residual emissions that cannot yet be eliminated are addressed only as a final step through carbon removals. Each hotel undergoes independent third-party verification by TÜV Rheinland.

The announcement of the three Norwegian hotels to the program was made at IMEX Frankfurt 2026. With four Verified Net Zero hotels operating in Norway by summer 2026, the country becomes an important platform for the next phase of the program’s expansion. Radisson Hotel Group plans to add further Verified Net Zero hotels in 2026 as the model is extended to more operating hotels across Europe and other markets.
