But at a resort like Alton Towers, they offer guests the opportunity to book a stay at one of its several resorts.
From a range of hotels, including the Alton Towers Hotel, Splash Landings Hotel, CBeebies Land Hotel, Woodland Lodges, Luxury Treehouses and the Stargazing Pods, there is something for everyone.
I was recently lucky enough to test out a stay at the Alton Towers Hotel myself, as well as some extra perks that helped me save a lot of money.

The moment you arrive at the Alton Towers Hotel, you quickly get the sense that it’s a luxury resort with a twist.
From the moment you step into the hotel, it feels like your ride has begun.
Stepping into the reception, friendly staff are quick to greet and help you check in and direct you to your room while sharing advice on what else you can find at the hotel.
All rooms at the Alton Towers Hotel are themed, from the Explorer Room, the Chocolate Room, the Splish Splash Room and the Moon Voyage Room, which I stayed in.
The hotel does a fantastic job at theming from the reception to the lifts; everything is on brand.
As soon as I stepped inside, the room I was met with space designs across all of the walls in the bedroom and even the bathroom.
A giant teddy bear on the bed greeted me, in a room that even had quirky lighting and a fun, extra interactive piece that anyone will enjoy.
Like any nice hotel, you’re given tea, coffee and some sweet treats along with a mini fridge that guests can use.

Away from the room, the Alton Towers Hotel has lots of great facilities including a games room, the Dragons Bar, the Secret Garden Restaurant, a Costa Coffee, a gift shop, an entertainment area a small play from children.
Plus, all guests at the hotel get a free round of extraordinary gold, free parking, breakfast included and early access to the park one hour before it opens to the general public.
The real special highlight of the hotel for me was the Secret Garden Restaurant, where I was able to try using the Ultimate Dining Plan.
How I ended up saving £50 at Alton Towers
The ultimate dining plan is new to Alton Towers for 2025 and promises savings of more than 40%.
It allows you to enjoy a range of perks, including lunch at the park, an evening meal, sweet treats, vouchers at Costa Coffee and 20% off food and drinks.
Costing £90 per person, the ultimate dining plan is ideal for anyone staying at the resort who doesn’t want to worry about food and drink.

At the Secret Restaurant, you’re able to enjoy a starter, main, side and dessert along with a range of drinks.
The evening meal was fantastic, everything was tasty, and you could tell it was of good quality.
The staff made the evening all the more helpful, kind and a perfect example of great hospitality.
I was also able to use the plan during my day inside the park, enjoy coffee, bottles of water, ice cream, more soft drinks and lunch that were all covered by the plan.
We had lunch at the Oak in Chain restaurant just outside Hex, which would’ve cost us £38, but we didn’t have to worry about the extra cost thanks to the plan.
Although the plan is a lifesaver, as it’s new to Alton Towers, there seems to be some confusion about how it works and what it can be used for.

There were several times when staff were unsure of how the plan worked and what needed to be done to use the pass, which seemed to be scanning the codes I had on the app.
But, as with any new feature, it’s a thing for everyone to get used to, so we expected some growing room.
I also find that in some areas of Alton Towers, there were limited vegetarian options.
During the hunt for lunch, we had no choice but to walk 20 minutes towards the Oak in Chain to find one vegetarian option as the best choice.
With the dining plan, I was able to save £52; without it, I would have spent more than £230 on food and drink alone.

A stay at the Alton Towers Hotel is the perfect way to treat yourself to a weekend of fun, thrill and excitement.
From the moment you arrive, you get to enjoy a break away from the stress of everyday life and can enjoy the feeling of being a child again.
The staff are real stars of the show, making every moment at the hotel and park unforgettable.
There’s a clear reason Alton Towers is so popular for both children and big kids alike.
