Kourtney Kardashian offered followers a peek into her dreamy English getaway this summer, describing one particular spot as resembling a ‘fairytale’. The 46-year-old reality TV personality shared her experience in a recent Instagram post featuring images of charming cottages, duck-populated waterways, and a rustic wooden lodge.

Although you may be imagining Cornwall, the Yorkshire Dales, or the New Forest, it was actually the Cotswolds that captured Kourtney’s attention. “Dreamy storybook fairytale enchantment,” she wrote back in July.

The Cotswolds, covering nearly 800 square miles, is a stunning area that runs through several counties, including Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, and Oxfordshire. The area is celebrated for its quintessentially British markets, heritage walking routes, and golden-hued stone cottages, establishing it as a perfect holiday destination.

Kourtney, who gained celebrity status through Keeping Up with the Kardashians, didn’t delve into the spots she visited during her stay in the area. Nevertheless, the Oxford Mail previously claimed that Gloucestershire’s Stow-on-the-Wold featured in her visit, alongside Estelle Manor close to Witney.

Stow-on-the-Wold is among the Cotswolds’ charming market towns and is often regarded as an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is less than two hours away from London by train and features regular markets, numerous traditional tea rooms, and the picturesque St. Edward’s Church.

Local sources suggest the church doors may have even inspired J.R.R. Tolkien’s Doors of Durin, the western entrance to Moria featured in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

Additionally, Stow-on-the-Wold is roughly 40 minutes by car from Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare’s birthplace, and Warwick’s historic Warwick Castle.

Kourtney’s other rumoured destination, Estelle Manor, lies roughly a 40-minute drive from Stow-on-the-Wold, too. This award-winning country house hotel sprawls across an 85-acre Oxfordshire estate.

The property is surrounded by more than 3,000 acres of parkland and houses the countryside branch of Mayfair’s exclusive private members’ club Maison Estelle.

The Kardashian’s thoughts on the Cotswolds sparked a flurry of responses on Instagram, with numerous users proposing alternative British destinations she should explore.

One person quipped: “That’s my local co-op in the background. Great selection of yellow label sandwiches if you hit it around 5pm.” Meanwhile, another said: “Kourtney please visit Ilford while you’re here! There’s multiple B&Ms, Aldis etc, jump on the central line to Westfield.”

Someone else also joked: “You should go Stoke luv, really loveleh there xoxo.”
