A man has shared a video of his visit to Disney World, Florida, and he was left stunned by the price of some items in the theme park – with kids even “crying” over one purchase

It’s safe to say that countless people adore Disney, despite reports suggesting Disney World has been rather deserted of late. Nevertheless, in recent months, it appears it’s not the emptiness that has caught people off guard, as guests have also been left gobsmacked by the cost of everyday items.

Following a recent visit to the theme park, one father, who goes by i_dad_so_hard on TikTok, dedicated his time to recording how much things cost at Disney World, Florida, and he couldn’t resist poking fun at the situation. His journey clearly wasn’t budget-friendly, as he exposed just how pricey some purchases were.

In the video, he explained he wanted to discover what “ridiculous” prices he could find as he wandered around the attraction. This follows after a breakdown of costs at the beloved theme park was disclosed.

As he strolled around the venue, he noted a blueberry vodka lemonade was tagged at $15.50 (£12), whilst a Canadian apple slushy was $16.50 (£12.50). Though he acknowledged the prices “could be worse”, he declared he’d “never” fork out the charges.

Meanwhile, a pair of Crocs was priced at $64.99 (£48) in one shop, and a jumper came in at over $80.00 as well. He also displayed a phone case, which was marked at $39.00 (£29).

As he carried on browsing, he discovered a Minnie Mouse handbag. He captioned the clip: “A meltdown was had over this backpack.”

After presenting it to the camera, he disclosed it was $100.00 (£75), and commented: “Not my child, but a child went full tantrum.”

As he strolled about, he remarked: “Whatever price you reckon it’s going to be inflated to, and then add 50% to that. Are we thinking on the candle? $35.00 (£26).

“Yeah, you just want to get some Disney ears for your kids. $35.00 there. It’s $100.00 in Disney ears for three kids.

“So, the next time you see someone with a Disney hat on, it’s basically like Gucci.”

Since the clip was posted, it’s racked up more than 20,000 views, with viewers rushing to share their reactions. Hundreds of folk weighed in with their opinions.

One viewer commented: “We took our son to Disney. After much crying (two days), we had to buy the bubble wand. I felt ashamed for buying it.”

Another chimed in: “Everything is ridiculously high. I paid $60.00 (£45) for two three-piece chicken dinners.”

A third also responded: “This is why Disney will never see me.”

Others suggested people are happy to fork out the prices though, as a fourth noted: “If one pays it, it’s their problem. I’ve never been there and don’t have any plans to.”

Someone else also contributed: “Idiots keep paying it, so why not?” One more added: “As long as people pay it, they will ask it.”

Typically, items at Disney World, including food, merchandise and keepsakes vary dramatically in cost; nevertheless, guests can anticipate quick-service meals beginning around $15.00 (£10.50) for adults, whilst table-service dining starts from approximately $22.00 (£16.0). Merchandise is reported to range from $25.00 (£19) to $100.00 for shirts and hoodies, with other items like ears priced around $25.00, although these prices can fluctuate.

Recently, it’s been suggested that Disney World has been making efforts to make holidays more affordable for visitors. The theme park has offered discount promotions for resort guests on occasion, whilst also maintaining high-priced experiences and substantial investments in new attractions.

The company asserts that it provides various price points to cater to different budgets. There are also a broad array of ticket and hotel options for visitors to choose from.

Disney World has been approached for comment.
