ORLANDO, Fla. — Summer travel season is here, and if you’re considering a cruise, you’ll have some company.

1. We sifted through some new data and found that 82% of cruisers will cruise again this year. According to the American Express 2025 Global Travel Trends Report, 70% of Millennials and Gen Z surveyed want to plan trips that focus on enjoying the journey as much as the destination. So that’s where cruises come in.

2. We spoke with a travel expert to see why cruise numbers are hot. Jeannette Ceja has traveled to 65 countries and was aboard the Disney Wish in Castaway Cay during our virtual chat. “You really get three vacations in one,” she said about a cruise. “You get the hassle-free of a luxury ocean cruise. You only unpack once. You also get to visit tropical destinations.”

3. The Disney Wish is one of four Disney Cruise Line ships coming out of Florida, and Ceja says you still have time to book your summer cruise. So we went online to the Disney Cruise Line official site and typed in the July availability for a family of four, and 15 cruise options out of Cape Canaveral appeared (at the time of this posting).

4. Other interesting numbers we found – more than half (58%) of young families plan to bring their extended family on vacation in 2025.

5. Also, according to the same report, nearly 20% more Millennials and Gen Z surveyed found at least one aspect of AI technology as useful for booking, compared to Gen X and Baby Boomers.
