Take a road trip through Texas and you’ll quickly realize how big it is. After hours of driving, it’s common to find you aren’t even close to making it out of the Lone Star State. This makes good road trip snacks an absolute essential.
Thankfully, Texans have created a solution to this necessity: a pit-stop destination that puts all other road trip stops to shame. Not only does it have an iconic lineup of snacks and food items, but it also has 120 gas pumps and a beaver mascot. If you are from the South, you probably already know exactly what I am talking about: the iconic Texas convenience store Buc-ee’s.
What Is Buc-ee’s?
If you aren’t familiar with Buc-ee’s, here is what you need to know. Buc-ee’s is a chain of gas stations in the U.S. But its famously clean bathrooms and Texas road trip fare make it so much more than a convenience store. The gas station is so iconic that not stopping at a Buc-ee’s while on a Texas road trip is against the law. Okay, not actually. But, why would you want to skip out on a mega convenience store with a seemingly endless supply of beaver merch and barbecue sandwiches?
As someone who grew up in Texas, I have been on my fair share of Buc-ee’s runs. While the chain is known for its iconic Beaver Nuggets, I think there’s another Buc-ee’s snack that beats it. It’s so good, that I’d even eat this divine combo when I’m not road-tripping.
Why I Love Buc-ee’s Peanut Butter Blast Trail Mix
If one thing is for sure, it’s that I’m going to pick all of the M&M’s and peanuts out of a bag of trail mix until I’m left with only a bag of random nuts and raisins. Leave it up to none other than Buc-ee’s to finally find the solution to this problem.
The Buc-ee’s Peanut Butter Blast Trail Mix is a snack that makes driving hours through Texas worth it. Why? Because this snack is a trail mix made with only peanut butter-flavored snacks. In other words, it is a trail mix that I can enjoy every single bite of.
As someone incredibly dedicated to peanut butter, this trail mix is a dream. All six ingredients in this assortment are worth their place: peanuts, honey roasted peanuts, peanut butter chips, peanut butter candies, mini peanut butter cups, and peanut butter-coated pretzel balls. Some might say this is too much peanut butter. I say there is no such thing.
I can’t think of a better road trip snack. Every bite is perfectly salty, sweet, and nutty. Pair it with a Coke and you have the perfect way to pass the time.
