The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) announced on Wednesday that a 78-kilometre stretch of the M-5 Motorway between Multan and Sukkur has been reopened for traffic.
The section, which had been closed for some time, is now accessible to ensure smooth movement between the two major cities.
According to the NHMP, the reopened section spans between Shujaabad Interchange and Jalalpur Pirwala Interchange.
This reopening is expected to facilitate motorists traveling between Multan and Sukkur by improving connectivity and reducing travel time.
Officials stated that road users can now utilize the Jalalpur Pirwala Interchange for entry and exit.
Meanwhile, the 37-kilometre segment between Jalalpur Pirwala and Uch Sharif Interchange will remain closed until essential maintenance work is completed.
The NHMP urged motorists to follow traffic rules and cooperate with authorities to maintain safety on the motorway. They assured that updates regarding the reopening of the remaining section will be shared once repair and inspection activities conclude.
