It is one of the most exciting developments in the works in the Lake of the Ozarks area.

The estimated $395 million “Oasis at Lakeport” project at Osage Beach will include an amusement park, a Marriott Hotel, a conference center, an indoor water park, and other amenities.

KRCG spoke with one of the lead developers overseeing the project, as well as the Osage Beach Mayor, to see when they anticipate the project opening.

“It’s taken us a little while to get everybody coordinated, but we’re probably a total of 14 to 15 months behind schedule,” explained Jeff Tegethoff, President of Tegethoff Development.

We reported earlier in the spring that a portion of the “Oasis at Lakeport” development that would include a hotel and indoor water park was delayed until the first quarter of 2027.

Despite the setback, Osage Beach residents say the site of the project has remained vacant for several months.

Leaving questions in the air about the status of the project’s amusement park, which is slated to open next summer.

“We do have all the rides, all twelve rides, including the Ferris wheel gondolas, delivered this week to the lake area. They’re all in and around the lake,” Tegethoff said.

According to Tegethoff, the project ran into delays when working to acquire time shares at Lakewood Resort, the property adjacent to the site and where the hotel and waterpark will be located.

The condos have since come down.

Tegethoff says they were on pace to acquire the timeshares in December 2023, but weren’t able to get a clean title on the timeshares till a few months ago.

“I don’t think anybody really understood how to acquire them; they didn’t understand how even to sell them. Ultimately, I bought the timeshares in October of 2024, and we tore them down in January of 2025. But I wasn’t able to get clean titles to them until April 2025,” Tegethoff explained.

Tegethoff says he anticipates crews returning out to the work site within the next 30 days as they hone in on the completion of the amusement park by this coming summer.

He says “Oasis at Lakeport” is estimated to generate 100 million annually.

“We are getting back to work now, just getting everybody scheduled. Once we get started back up, we don’t want to stop again.”

Osage Beach Mayor Michael Harmison says it’s an exciting time for lake area residents with work set to resume on the project in the coming weeks.

Harmison says he is hopeful the project boosts tourism year-round at Osage Beach and the lake area.

“They will also have the Marriott, which will bring conferences; they have already got thousands of rooms booked before they even put a shovel in the ground. So it’s not only going to bring entertainment for the family, but it is also going to bring year-round entertainment so that we will become a tourist destination – not just 6 months out of the year, but hopefully 12 months a year,” Harmison explained.
