Singapore Airlines (SQ) will now continue its non-stop service to Barcelona (BCN) through February 2026, revising earlier plans to suspend the route entirely for a month.

The updated schedule confirms one weekly direct flight during this period, ensuring continued connectivity between Singapore and Spain despite wider capacity cuts across SIA’s European network.

Singapore Airlines to Continue Barcelona Flights

In its latest network update, Singapore Airlines reversed part of its earlier decision to suspend all non-stop flights between Singapore (SIN) and Barcelona (BCN) in February 2026. Instead, the carrier will operate one weekly non-stop flight during the four weeks from February 9 to March 8, 2026.

Originally, both of SIA’s twice-weekly direct services were to be paused, with the gap covered by extending the daily Singapore–Milan (MXP) route to Barcelona five times per week. That plan has now been scaled back.

Only three weekly Barcelona flights via Milan will continue, alongside one non-stop service — reducing total Singapore–Barcelona frequencies from five to four per week.

While this adjustment still represents a capacity reduction, it maintains Singapore Airlines’ only non-stop connection to Spain on a year-round basis. The direct flight shaves approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes off the travel time compared to the Milan stopover, MainlyMiles reported.

Schedule Overview

From 27 October 2025 to 8 February 2026, Singapore Airlines will operate its regular twice-weekly non-stop SQ388/SQ387 service on Mondays and Fridays using the Airbus A350 Long Haul.

During the revised February schedule (9 February–8 March 2026), only the Friday non-stop service will operate, while the Monday flight remains suspended. The normal two-weekly pattern resumes from 9 March 2026, continuing through the rest of the winter season and into summer 2026.

The summer schedule also retains the usual twice-weekly non-stop frequency, increasing temporarily to five weekly flights between late June and early September 2026 to meet peak demand. During this period, the Barcelona via Milan flights will pause, removing SIA’s short-haul Milan–Barcelona fifth-freedom service.

Milan Operations Remain Steady

Daily Singapore–Milan (MXP) services remain largely unaffected by these schedule shifts.

SIA will continue to operate a mix of direct and Barcelona-tagged flights, adjusting frequencies where necessary to maintain network balance.

For the winter season, the Singapore–Barcelona via Milan service operates three times weekly using SQ378/SQ377, complementing SIA’s direct Milan terminator flights SQ356 and SQ355.

KrisFlyer Award Rates and Upcoming Changes

For travelers booking award tickets, the KrisFlyer redemption rates on the Singapore–Barcelona route remain the same until 31 October 2025 — starting at 42,000 miles for Economy Saver and 103,500 miles for Business Saver.

From 1 November 2025, Singapore Airlines will implement a KrisFlyer devaluation, increasing rates across all cabins. Business Saver awards on this route will rise to 108,500 miles, while Business Advantage jumps to 141,500 miles.

Currently, only Advantage awards are immediately available on the newly reinstated non-stop days, but the mileage difference between current Advantage and future Saver levels is relatively small, making early bookings worthwhile.

Other European Routes Face Cuts

While Barcelona retains one weekly direct flight, other SIA routes in Europe are seeing more significant reductions this winter:

  • London Heathrow (LHR): Reduced from four to three daily flights between mid-January and late February 2026.
  • Munich (MUC): Down from daily to five weekly in February 2026.
  • Paris (CDG): Reduced from 11 to 10 weekly flights at intervals.
  • Rome (FCO): Cut from four to three weekly services for most of the winter.

These adjustments reflect seasonal demand trends and ongoing fleet optimization within SIA’s European network.

Bottom Line

Singapore Airlines’ decision to keep one weekly non-stop Singapore–Barcelona service through February 2026 ensures continued direct connectivity to Spain, even in a lower-demand season.

The move offers travelers a faster option over one-stop alternatives and maintains operational continuity on a key European route.

With KrisFlyer rates set to rise from November 2025, frequent flyers may find now an ideal time to secure award bookings before the increase takes effect.
