The airline also issued an apology to passengers, acknowledging the disruption to travel plans and thanking them for their patience.

The aircraft involved in the incident was a Boeing 777-319, part of Air New Zealand’s long-haul fleet. This model is commonly used on international routes due to its range and passenger capacity.

Air New Zealand operates one daily service between Auckland and Nadi. The route typically takes around three hours under normal conditions and is a key connection between New Zealand and Fiji.
