People wanting to leave the country will be able to do so by booking flights with Israeli airlines, the Tourism Ministry said on Monday.
“Following the recently published aviation framework, those wishing to leave Israel can now book flights to a variety of destinations via Israeli airlines,” the ministry said in a statement.
The airlines currently operating in the country are El Al, Israir, Arkia, and Haifa Air.
“The recommended, most efficient, and convenient way to secure travel is to purchase flight tickets directly from the airlines,” the ministry added, and also clarified that purchases must be made via the official websites of the airlines or authorized travel agents.
The statement also outlined a system for tourists and foreign nationals facing urgent or exceptional circumstances to receive dedicated assistance from the government and airlines.
The ministry asked people to fill in this link in case they need emergency assistance. “Submitting the form does not constitute a guarantee or commitment to booking a flight,” the ministry clarified.
The press release also explained that this option is intended only for those who are unable to book a flight through regular channels and require assistance in an emergency or exceptional circumstances, while passengers will have to purchase their flight ticket directly from the airline.
