Aryna Sabalenka recently took a break from the tennis circuit to enjoy a scenic Greece vacation with her boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, following her withdrawal from the 2025 China Open due to a minor injury. The Belarusian World No. 1 shared highlights of her trip on Instagram, including a chic gingham bikini look and picturesque moments across the Mediterranean landscapes.

On Monday, September 22, Sabalenka posted a series of five photos from her trip to Greece. One image featured the four-time Grand Slam singles champion beaming in her gingham bikini, while another captured a tender kiss with Frangulis, the Brazil-born entrepreneur of Greek descent. The remaining photos showcased the stunning beauty of Greece’s beaches and scenery.

The Aryna Sabalenka Greece vacation comes after the tennis star withdrew from the China Open. The official X (formerly Twitter) account of the combined ATP 500 and WTA 1000 event confirmed her absence on Tuesday, September 16, citing a “minor injury.”

“Aryna Sabalenka has withdrawn from the 2025 China Open due to a minor injury. We wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming her back in Beijing. #2025ChinaOpen”

Before this, Sabalenka successfully defended her women’s singles crown at the US Open, defeating Amanda Anisimova 6-3, 7-6(3) in the Flushing Meadows final. The win solidified her position as the WTA World No. 1 and confirmed her qualification for the year-end WTA Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Sabalenka competed in last year’s China Open as well, reaching the quarterfinals before being ousted by Karolina Muchova in a thrilling three-set match.
