When Chip and Joanna Gaines’ show Fixer Upper premiered on TLC in 2013, America fell in love. Chip’s humor and handiwork coupled with Jo’s eye for style and design, made for great television. In addition to their success on television, the couple also created Magnolia Market, putting Waco, Texas, on the map for all the right reasons. And if that weren’t enough, they also squeezed in raising five children. Chip Gaines recently took off with Drake, 20, Ella,18, Duke, 16, Emmie Cay, 15, and Crew, 6, on an epic adventure. Joanna shared a video of their travels on Instagram.

“Chip asked the kids to go on a road trip with him for Father’s day. Each kid got to pick where they wanted to go and Crew chose Oklahoma first bc he wanted to see a tornado and red dirt,” Joanna Gaines wrote. “Then on to New Mexico Utah Arizona and then back in Texas to Marfa where they decided to surprise mom and get another puppy. We named her Marfa.”

Chip Gaines Really Adores His Kids

It’s easy to see that Chip Gaines is quite the family man. He loves his five children and wants to make memories with each of them. Joanna Gaines appreciates her husband’s sense of adventure, writing on Instagram, “Chip, you’re such a fun dad. They’ll never forget this trip!”

Fans agreed with Jo and loved seeing Chip enjoy his children and their interests.

“As a child of parents who took us on roadtrips all over the country, I know they’ll carry the love for road trips into their adulthood, I’m 37 now and any chance I get I’ll drive before I’ll fly somewhere,” a fan shared.

“Love this. Love Chip wanting to spend time with the kids by himself,” another person agreed.

This fan paid Chip Gaines and his wife a huge compliment.

“I am not a big social media follower, and I don’t just say this to anyone (let alone a celebrity), but I think Johanna makes the world a better place. You can see the love she has for her family, her community and how she truly values her life. Well done Chip and Johanna. Well done.”
