NEED TO KNOW

  • Disneyland and Walt Disney World are rolling out new features on their websites and apps to find dining reservations
  • A new calendar view can help guests find a table for a specific restaurant during their planned stays
  • Visitors can filter reservations by meal type, time, location, dining plan eligibility and character dining experiences

Making dinner plans for a Disney vacation just got more magical.

Guests visiting Disneyland and Walt Disney World will be able to find reservations across the parks more easily thanks to a slew of new features launched this June, a Disney representative confirmed to PEOPLE.

The theme parks’ websites and mobile apps have several new methods to plan meals across the 46 Florida restaurants and 411 California dining options.

With the updates, fans can now see the available reservations at individual restaurants in a calendar view. This way, guests can easily see when a table is available during their planned stay.

Visitors can see a dining option’s reservation availability in a calendar view.

For guests who aren’t exactly sure what restaurant or cuisine they’re craving, another new feature allows visitors to check the availability of all dining options across several days. Prior to the update, the tool used to only show one restaurants’ availability in a date range.

New filters also help hungry Disney lovers find exactly what, when and where they want to eat.  A slider feature now narrows the search down to a time range (even as short as one hour) if you know that you will want to eat at a specific time.

New filters help guests see which restaurants have available reservations.

A filter to select whether you want breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner are also new to the dining search options for location and dining plans (but this is exclusive to Walt Disney World guests). Plus, if you’re looking for something immersive, you can also filter the dining option to see which reservations offer Disney character dining experiences.

While new Disney features are popping up, one iconic attraction is closing its doors for good.

On Saturday, June 7, after 34 years at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the curtains closed on Jim Henson’s Muppet*Vision 3D.

The news was first announced in November 2024 and the closing date was confirmed in May 2025. The beloved attraction, which combines a 3D movie, real special effects and iconic character animatronics, was the last project the late Jim Henson worked on himself before his death.
