A Reddit user recently shared their experience in a post that quickly became viral, and many people could relate to the situation described.
Disney Visitors Frustrated Over ‘Incredibly Rude’ Habit Ruining The Magic
A Reddit user recently shared a post complaining about an annoying habit that plenty of visitors have. In particular, the user criticized those talking loudly while on a ride, ruining the magic for everyone. The post reads:
SO often when you go on POTC, Living With The Land, HM (pre-show), etc. people just simply don’t care and have full conversations with each other the whole time! This could be someone’s first time riding or experiencing something and people jabbing away to each other is incredibly rude (regardless if it’s a first-timer trying to enjoy or a millionth-timer).
The user continues by stating that while they tried to bring this up to people, most of the time, visitors claimed it was an overreaction. The post also specifies that the user has no issue with those talking about the ride, such as how the mechanics work so well, or communicating with their children.
However, the problem arises when people discuss non-Disney matters, such as the last family reunion. While most agreed with the user, some didn’t.

Plenty of people seem to agree with the user. Some pointed out that a similar post had been published a few days earlier, with someone complaining about people talking during pre-shows. Some people jokingly wrote that joining their conversation is the best way to shut someone up.

I personally think we’ve got to start calling people out on the rides.. politely. I know it’s terribly awkward and uncomfortable and sadly sometimes even dangerous now. (…) But the truth is that they’re just going to keep getting worse. If one group out of ten learns their lesson by being embarrassed, maybe that’s progress.
Others pointed out that this is a common habit today called ‘Living Room Syndrome’. It consists of people thinking they are in their own living room, no matter where they are—in other words, visitors who have no regard for those around them.
Other Common Rude Behavior At Disney Theme Parks
Unfortunately, this is just one of the many annoying behaviors people now adopt on their Disney theme park trips. Another common one consists of visitors holding their smartphones up and constantly recording everything happening on rides.
Some visitors also tend to ignore the advice and suggestions of cast members. This is rude and potentially dangerous since these people always have visitors’ safety in mind.
Another common and potentially dangerous behavior is trying to cheat when it comes to height. Of course, it can be heartbreaking for some parents to tell their kids they will still have to wait an extra year before getting on a ride. However, these measures are in place for safety reasons, and ignoring them can be highly dangerous.
Lastly, Disney recently made the news after a visitor was denied entry due to her outfit, namely a sports bra and a pair of leggings. While this may seem absurd to some, Disney’s official website mentions park workers reserve the right to deny admission to anyone wearing outfits that are considered ‘inappropriate’ or that may ‘detract from the experience of other Guests.’ So, regardless of whether you think this is right or wrong, keep it in mind before your next trip to a Disney theme park.
