The Disney Wonder departed from Sydney earlier this month for Disney Cruise Line’s farewell cruise from Australia.

With the company not scheduled to return to the region, the vessel embarked on a repositioning voyage on Feb. 2, 2026.

Sailing from Australia to Hawaii, the 15-night cruise features visits to destinations in New Caledonia, Fiji and American Samoa, such as Noumea, Suva and Pago Pago.

In addition to spending nine days at sea, the Disney Wonder is also scheduled to sail to Nawiliwili before ending its cruise in Honolulu.

The 1998-built ship will then embark on a second repositioning voyage ahead of a spring deployment on the West Coast.

As previously reported by Cruise Industry News, Disney Cruise Line is saying farewell to Australia and New Zealand after three winter seasons.

The company announced its decision in August 2025, noting that while its deployment for 2026-27 does not include the region, it remains “a strong consideration for future itineraries.”

As part of its farewell season Down Under, the Disney Wonder arrived in Australia in late October, following a repositioning cruise from North America.

The 1999-built ship then offered a series of short cruises departing from the ports of Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland.

The three- to five-night itineraries featured visits to Eden, Hobart, Wellington and Christchurch, as well as days at sea.

Instead of returning to Australia, the Disney Wonder is set to offer cruises on the West Coast during the 2026-27 winter.

Sailing from San Diego, the ship will operate three- to seven-night itineraries to Baja Mexico and the Mexican Riviera between October 2026 and May 2027.

Disney is now getting ready to return to the Australasia region next month with the debut of the new Disney Adventure.

After being delivered by Meyer Werft in late 2025, the new 208,000-ton ship will offer year-round cruises from Singapore starting in mid-March 2026.
