Disneyland is putting a pause on a fan-favorite ride.

Eagle-eyed Disney fans have noticed the park, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary, is closing the Haunted Mansion attraction. From Aug. 11, it is likely that the ride will close for its seasonal makeover.

The seasonal makeover brings forth the Haunted Mansion Holiday, first decorated for Halloween and later for the winter holiday season. The Haunted Mansion’s holiday decor will grace the park through early 2026.

While the Disney website indicates the ride is closed through the end of the month, the Daily Mail notes that the ride will reopen Aug. 22. When it returns, the Halloween makeover gives the house a special, spooky theme — Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Visitors checking out Disneyland during this period have so many special anniversary celebrations to enjoy. The Tapestry of Happiness projection show is a visual love letter to 70 years of unforgettable Disneyland experiences.

There’s also Paint the Night, which brings one million brilliant LED lights and popular Disney pals in a spectacle for the park’s late owls. For return visitors, there are new friendly faces to check out in “It’s a Small World.”

In June, Disneyland announced it’s building a new parking structure and transportation hub that is part of the park’s larger goal of expansion and also helping make the entrance to the park that much more special for all the visitors who pass through.

The expansion includes two all-new attractions that will double the size of Avengers Campus, plus the new Coco-themed ride and Avatar destination coming to Disney California Adventure park. The multi-year construction of this new arrival experience is slated to begin in fall of 2026.
