Disney Parks are constantly evolving to keep up to date with the latest movies. For instance, visitors recently had to say goodbye to DinoLand USA, a hidden gem at Animal Kingdom, and are about to do the same with the Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!, which will officially close at the end of 2025.
However, plenty of new rides are being introduced. These are often based on recent movies, giving people a good reason to go back to Disney theme parks to see what has changed since their last visit. However, not all rides meet visitors’ expectations. In a post that quickly became viral, a Reddit user asked what people thought about the new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and comments were mostly negative.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Disappoints Visitors

Disney theme park visitors generally love the company’s rides and attention to detail. For instance, Animal Kingdom Balloon Daycare Center was highly praised by guests. Yet, sometimes, Disney disappoints its visitors by closing rides that shouldn’t have been replaced and opening new attractions that are ‘kind of boring’.
Electronic_Ad1416 recently shared a post on Reddit asking people ‘Since Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has been open for awhile now, what is everyone’s opinion?’ The user wasn’t impressed with the ride and stated that he would have preferred more retailing of the movie to make the ride more engaging and dynamic. Plenty of people agreed with the user. For instance, Gail_the_SLP stated:
I thought it was kind of boring. There were whole stretches with little or nothing happening. It would have been better as a retelling of the movie with some drama and conflict.
The comment gathered over 500 ‘likes,’ meaning that most people agreed with it. User IncurableAdventurer stated that despite having been on the ride, he could not really understand what it was about and described the whole experience as ‘an egregious waste of potential.’
Some users also pointed out that Disney is forbidden from adding Dr. Facilier to the ride since he’s a voodoo practitioner and the company refuses to add any religious reference to its attractions. Yet, this is only one of the many factors that have led so many users to describe Tiana’s Bayou Adventure as lacking suspense and tension.

Visitors Miss Splash Mountain
Most Reddit users claimed the storyline was confusing, and the ride lacked excitement, stating they preferred ‘Slash Mountain’, the attraction replaced by Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. People said they missed the previous ride’s music, characters, and iconic final scene, and generally stated the new ride isn’t up to Disney standards. For instance, user Far_Mention8934 wrote:
My favorite scene out of splash was the laughing place scene, it was one of the most colorful and fun scenes for me, and for it to now just be pure darkness and empty with screens still kills me. I do not like this retheme at all :/ they could have atleast kept a few of the america sings critters to not make the ride look so dark and empty. Splash shouldnt have been replaced.
Some guests also claimed that people get way too wet on the new ride, which may also be problematic. Unfortunately, for now, it seems that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is here to stay despite visitors’ critiques, and that the previous Slash Mountain ride won’t return to Disneyland. Hopefully, Disney will consider installing new features to this ride to better align with its guests’ expectations.
