Jordan Becker, living with a rare form of cancer, embarks on an unforgettable cross-country adventure thanks to the Sunshine Foundation.
For ten-year-old Jordan Becker of Weston, a recent family road trip across the United States wasn’t just a vacation; it was a “Special Dream” come true, granted by the generous support of the Sunshine Foundation. Jordan, who lives with Fibrosarcoma, a rare soft tissue sarcoma, recently returned from a journey that created memories to last a lifetime.
Jordan’s father shared their profound gratitude, stating, “We just returned from our much-needed trip, and I can’t begin to express how grateful we are. Thanks to you and the Sunshine Foundation, we were able to make memories that will stay with us for a lifetime. Jordan absolutely loved exploring Crater Lake National Park and Yellowstone – the beauty took his breath away. Visiting Astoria, Oregon, and experiencing the energy of Las Vegas brought so much joy to our family. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making this dream a reality.”

The Sunshine Foundation is dedicated to answering the dreams of children with lifelong severe chronic illnesses and conditions, including but not limited to spina bifida, cerebral palsy, severe autism, and Down syndrome.
Unlike some other wish-granting organizations, the Sunshine Foundation steps in for children who may not have a life-threatening or critical diagnosis but still deserve a chance to experience joy and wonder.
Jordan’s “Dream Come True” was made possible through a ticket fundraiser held in collaboration with Island H20 Waterpark. The foundation relies entirely on the generosity of individuals, organizations, and corporations to make these dreams a reality.

While many of the Sunshine Foundation’s “Magical Dreams” involve visits to popular theme parks like Legoland, Universal Studios, Disney World, and SeaWorld, often including stays at the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village near Disney, they also fulfill “Special Dreams.” These can range from shopping sprees and technology, such as computers and iPads, to adaptive tricycles, outdoor playsets, and family trips, like Jordan’s.
Since its inception in 1976, the Sunshine Foundation has brought joy to over 43,280 children across the United States. The organization proudly holds a perfect 100% score on Charity Navigator and an “A” rating on CharityWatch, solidifying its reputation as a top-rated wish-granting organization in America.
