DUBAI, UAE- Dubai airports faced early-morning disruption on Tuesday after adverse weather reduced visibility across parts of the UAE, affecting flight movements at the city’s two main hubs. Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) recorded multiple operational impacts as fog and mist developed during peak arrival hours.
Operations involving several carriers, including home airline Emirates (EK) and low-cost operator flydubai (FZ), were affected as conditions limited safe landing windows. Airport authorities activated contingency procedures while coordinating with airlines to manage passenger flows and aircraft movements.

Dubai Airports Cancels Flights
According to Gulf News, Dubai Airports confirmed that 12 flights were cancelled and 23 inbound services were diverted following the onset of adverse weather.
The disruption began in the early hours of Tuesday, a period that typically sees high arrival volumes from overnight long-haul routes.
Diverted flights were redirected to alternate regional airports where weather conditions permitted safe operations. Airlines worked with ground teams to re-accommodate passengers and reposition aircraft once visibility improved.
A Dubai Airports spokesperson said teams were coordinating closely with airline partners and service providers to restore normal operations.
Passengers were advised to check directly with their airlines for the latest schedule updates before travelling to the airport.

Fog Alert Impact in Dubai
The National Centre of Meteorology issued a red alert for parts of Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Ajman due to dense fog and sharply reduced visibility.
Authorities warned motorists of hazardous driving conditions, particularly on highways linking emirates during early morning hours.
Low cloud formation and increased humidity overnight contributed to the fog, which is common during seasonal transitions. Light to moderate winds offered limited dispersion, prolonging low-visibility conditions in some coastal and inland areas.
Temperatures across coastal and internal regions were forecast to range between 30°C and 32°C, with cooler readings expected in mountainous areas.
Sea conditions remained slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea, limiting wider weather-related disruptions.

Passenger Advisory
Dubai Airports urged travellers to allow extra time when heading to DXB and DWC, especially during early morning and late-night periods.
Airlines continued to update passengers through digital channels as flight schedules adjusted throughout the day.
Weather forecasts from Tuesday through the weekend indicate fair to partly cloudy conditions, with humid nights increasing the likelihood of recurring fog or mist. Visibility risks are expected to remain highest near coastal zones and islands.
Airport authorities and airlines are monitoring conditions on an ongoing basis to reduce further disruption. Passengers with upcoming travel plans are encouraged to stay informed and remain flexible as weather patterns evolve.
