There are multiple road closures and travel disruptions on Saturday with some roads ‘just passable’
The full list of roads still closed due to snow on Saturday, January 10:
- Snow continues to block the A542 Horseshoe Pass near Llangollen in Denbighshire, which is closed in both directions since January 4 between the Corwen and Wrexham turn-offs, with the high-level route still impassable.
- In Bridgend the A4061 Rhigos Mountain Road is “just passible” in both directions due to snow from the A4107 to Brookland Terrace. This has been the case since 4pm on Friday.
- In Blaenau Gwent the B4560 in Garnlydan is closed in both directions due to snow. The road is affected between Queensway and the B4558 at Llangynidr.
- In Ceredigion the B4338 is affected in both directions in Talgarreg. The road is just passable due to snow from the B4459 to the Cefn Hafod pub in Gorsgoch.
- In Gwynedd the A5 Grisiau-Cochion is “just passable” in both directions due to snow. The road is affected from Braichmelyn to the A4086 Llanberis turn-off at Capel Curig.
- In Ceredigion the B4338 at Talgarreg is also impassable in both directions due to snow. The road is affected from the B4459 to the Cefn Hafod Pub, Gorsgoch.
- In Swansea Rhyddwen Road is closed in both directions from Rhyddwen Place to Clydach Road.
- Elsewhere there was minimal disruption on Saturday morning. A diversion is in place via the A470 due to a fallen tree blocking the A483 at Newtown Bypass. The closure in place between Crossgates and Newtown. There are reports of multiple unstable trees in the area.
- Reports came through at 8.15am of a crash in Croesnewydd Road in Wrexham. Traffic is heavier than usual due to the incident near Rhyd Broughton Lane, on the roundabout.
- Snow continues to cause disruption in Wales on Saturday morning as road closures are in place across the country. Heavy snowfall brought by Storm Goretti on Friday continues to bring parts of the Wesh road network to a standstill. Road conditions continue to affect the country on Saturday morning as a yellow Met Office weather warning is in place across most of the country until 12pm.
