The scheduling of routes, collaborations with tour operators and fleet distribution have been scheduled for months. Popular tourism destinations take the lead in the summer, and regional airports are significantly strengthened.
Increased traffic is also being recorded at Thessaloniki’s Makedonia Airport, with Aegean Airlines significantly strengthening its network in a vote of confidence in the city. Meanwhile, from March 31, the Thessaloniki-Prague and Thessaloniki-Warsaw connections are included in the summer schedule. Sky Express is also strengthening its presence with the recent addition of the Thessaloniki-Dusseldorf route, which operates year-round, three times a week.
From early May, Makedonia Airport will be directly connected to Helsinki, as Finnair has decided to serve this route. At the same time, easyJet will expand its footprint in northern Greece, adding flights from Amsterdam and Bristol to Thessaloniki.
The flight landscape is further strengthened in other destinations: Jet2 is expanding its network between Britain and Crete, adding new connections to Hania and capitalizing on the steady momentum of British demand. Corendon Airlines Europe is launching direct flights from Iraklio to Katowice and Warsaw twice a week on each route during the summer season, confirming the growing interest of the Polish market in Greece.
Ryanair is adding new connections from Bournemouth to Hania and Rhodes. Air Serbia links Belgrade with Santorini, while Bluebird Airways is strengthening its connectivity with Israel, flying from Tel Aviv to Santorini and Thessaloniki.
