Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have announced temporary restrictions on the entry of heavy vehicles into the federal capital from December 27 to December 31 to manage traffic during development work and New Year-related movement.
According to an ITP spokesperson, heavy traffic will not be allowed to enter Islamabad from December 27 to December 30 between 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm each day. On December 31, the restriction will remain in place from 3:00 pm until midnight.
The spokesperson said the decision was taken due to ongoing road development activities and an expected rise in traffic flow ahead of New Year celebrations. He added that traffic police personnel will remain deployed across key routes to facilitate commuters and maintain smooth movement during the restriction period.
Citizens have been advised to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with traffic authorities. For assistance or further details, the public may contact the Traffic Helpline at 1915 or the emergency helpline Pucar-15.
