The Koningsdam is back in service after undergoing a two-week drydock in the Bahamas, Holland America Line announced in a press release.
According to the company, the vessel now offers new accommodations for families and friends, as well as refreshed entertainment and retail spaces.
The Pinnacle-class ship welcomed guests back on March 29, 2026, kicking off a cruise to the Caribbean before heading to the Panama Canal for its summer season in Alaska.
Holland America said that these passengers were the first to experience the enhancements onboard the vessel, which include additional larger ocean view staterooms, refreshed live music venues, an expanded casino and a refreshed Effy shop.
During its drydock, the Koningsdam saw the addition of five new and larger ocean view staterooms, which were designed for groups travelling together.
Each stateroom accommodates up to four guests and features two beds that convert to a queen-size bed, along with a double sofa bed.
Holland America Line also upgraded 22 Vista Suites with new sofa beds, giving families more options to stay together.
The company said that updates to the area connecting Billboard Onboard and Rolling Stone Lounge created a more immersive live music experience onboard the Koningsdam.
Added seating in each venue provides more space for passengers to enjoy performances together, while new lounge seating positioned between the two venues allows guests to take in shows from either side.
Holland America added that the refreshed layout creates a “more open, connected environment where guests can gather and enjoy live music throughout the evening.”
The ship’s casino was also expanded during the drydock, allowing for additional gambling experiences and improving circulation between nearby entertainment and shopping areas.
Other changes included a series of interior updates designed to refresh the ship’s look and flexibility, Holland America said.
Carpets were replaced throughout staterooms and public areas, while specialty dining venues, including Pinnacle Grill, Sel de Mer and Club Orange, also received updates to support more adaptable dining experiences.
Some fixed tables were converted to movable table arrangements, allowing greater flexibility in seating configurations to better accommodate different group sizes.
The ship’s fitness center also received new equipment, and its Effy jewelry store underwent a full refresh during the drydock.
According to Holland America, the changes to the store are similar to the ones recently carried out onboard the Westerdam and the Zuiderdam.
The reimagined boutique features new flooring, wall finishes lighting and display fixtures, along with upgraded signage and merchandising elements that create a brighter, more modern retail environment.
