There’s no true right and wrong way to experience Disney World…but that doesn’t mean some ways aren’t better than others…
Rope dropping is a popular practice among Disney fanatics that requires guests to wake up super early, arrive at the park before it officially opens, and be ushered into the lands — one literal rope drop at a time — in an effort to beat the long lines and ensure a ride on the most in-demand attractions. Typically, rope droppers rush over to the most popular ride in the park first. However, when we asked Disney experts which ride you should rope drop at EPCOT, the common answer was interesting.
While EPCOT has a couple of E-ticket attractions, experts agree that there’s one standout ride that garners most of the attention.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is a fun reverse-launch coaster themed after the hit Marvel movie franchise, featuring randomized popular songs to give a sense of uniqueness each ride. Boasting innovative rotating ride vehicles, tons of gags, and an overall good time, this ride is THE RIDE for many parkgoers.
As such, it’s the obvious pick to rope drop — which you can now do as the ride no longer offers a virtual queue. That means standby lines can get very long, and not rope-dropping could lead to waiting well over an hour.
Still, EPCOT has several great attractions that can have terrible waits. And if Cosmic Rewind isn’t your speed, there are other rides that usually have long waits you should target, such as Test Track, Frozen Ever After, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
But if you’re a sucker for nostalgia and under-appreciated rides like me, maybe you’ll be rushing over to Living with the Land or Journey Into Imagination with Figment!
Ultimately, in all of our years going to Disney World, there’s one thing we learned — how you want to spend your time is totally up to you! Whatever YOU want to prioritize is all that matters.
