The Federal Investigation Agency intensified its checks at Jinnah International Airport, offloading a female flight attendant after recovering prohibited items from her luggage.

Immigration officials marked the crew member as suspicious during clearance as she prepared to depart for Saudi Arabia on a Pakistani passport with a Saudi exit re-entry visa. The Government Reporting Officer stopped her and examined her travel documents before ordering a detailed baggage search.

Officials recovered 26 bundles of cigarettes, nine packets of Adab gutka, 24 sachets of Rajni tobacco and three shopping bags of betel nuts from her luggage. During questioning, she stated that she has been serving as a flight attendant with Saudia since 2014 and travels frequently due to her job.

According to immigration officials, she admitted to transporting prohibited and commercial goods for the past six months. She also allegedly disclosed that 10 to 12 other crew members were involved in similar activity.

During interrogation, she allegedly admitted that she cleared prohibited items during departures by bribing officials of different departments and airline staff and smuggled goods to Saudi Arabia multiple times a month.

Authorities offloaded her and handed her over to the FIA Anti-Corruption Circle Karachi for further legal proceedings.
