Lost Island
Lost Island Theme Park will hold its grand opening for the new single-rail Fire Runner roller coaster on July 18.
The Waterloo, Iowa park announced the opening date on Instagram:
Fire Runner is a single-rail Raptor coaster built by Rocky Mountain Construction, similar in scale and layout to Stunt Pilot at Idaho’s Silverwood Theme Park. The 92-foot-tall, 52-mph coaster model is known for its intensity, sporting three whippy inversions thanks to its single-track design.
The new coaster is the first major addition to Lost Island since the park debuted in 2022. In fact, it’s the first all-new coaster in the park’s history, since the other three coasters in its lineup – Matugani, Nopuko Air Coaster and Lokolo – were relocated from other parks.
