Islamabad International Airport is set to get its first Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station, as part of a new multi-purpose fuel and service facility to be developed on its premises.

According to an auction notice issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), lease rights are being offered for the establishment and operation of a petrol pump and EV charging station along with allied facilities at the airport.

The planned site, Plot No. F‑180 C, measuring 4,532 square yards, has been earmarked for a full-service station complex, including a tuck shop, lube shop, tyre shop, and restaurant.

The lease will initially be granted for 30 years, extendable by a further 20 years with mutual consent under the PAA Land Lease Policy 2019.

Only licensed oil marketing companies are eligible to participate in the bidding process, which will take place on 4 February 2026 at a hotel in Islamabad. The successful bidder will be responsible for setting up and operating the fuel station and EV chargers on an “as is, where is” basis.
