Islamabad has officially opened another major underpass at Shaheen Chowk, providing relief to commuters at one of the city’s busiest intersections.
The project, completed in a record 63 days, is expected to significantly reduce congestion, save travel time, and improve traffic flow across the capital.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced that the underpass would be immediately accessible to traffic. He highlighted that the facility’s signal-free design will allow vehicles to move smoothly, particularly during peak hours. Permanent decorative lighting has also been installed to enhance visibility and aesthetics.
