The Oceania Marina recently completed 15 years of service after entering service for Oceania Cruises in early 2011.
As reported by Cruise Industry News, the vessel was christened during a special ceremony at PortMiami on February 5, 2011. Entertainment Tonight host Mary Hart served as the vessel’s godmother during the event.
Built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, the 1,252-passenger ship was the first newbuild ever ordered for the brand, which was then part of Prestige Cruise Holdings.
As part of its inaugural season, the vessel offered itineraries in North America, the Caribbean, the Panama Canal and Europe.
The ship’s first cruise started on February 8, 2011, sailing from Miami to the West Coast via the Panama Canal.
Upon returning to Florida, the ship operated itineraries in the Caribbean before repositioning to the U.S. Northeast and to Europe.
The Marina then spent its first summer season offering cruises to a wide range of destinations in the Mediterranean.
Extensively refurbished over the years, the 66,000-ton ship underwent a major modernization project in mid-2024.
At the time, the vessel introduced new dining venues, such as Aquamar Kitchen and an al fresco pizzeria, in addition to refreshed public spaces and staterooms.
This Marina is soon heading for a spring season sailing to destinations in the Western Mediterranean.
In mid-May, the vessel will set sail to Northern Europe for a series of cruises departing from Southampton, Copenhagen, Reykjavik and more.
In December, the Marina will arrive back in Miami for seven- to 12-night itineraries to the Caribbean and the Panama Canal.
