IHG Hotels & Resorts has confirmed that it will be expanding its offering into Indonesia in 2027. The group has announced the signing of a contract to develop Hotel Indigo Bali Ubud, in a partnership with Ristia Group. The 130-room hotel is set to open in 2027 in the heart of Ubud’s cultural district.

Speaking to reporters, Chris Anklin, Senior Director of Development, South East Asia and Korea IHG, said Indonesia is an important market for IHG’s growth. He shared, “We are excited to expand our portfolio with Hotel Indigo Bali Ubud. The hotel will welcome domestic and international guests starting in 2027, while also becoming a valued part of the surrounding community.”

The new Hotel Indigo Bali Ubud will be IHG Hotels & Resorts’ second property in the Ubud area alone. The new property follows in the footsteps of the group’s Kimpton Bali Ubud, and builds upon the IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio in Southeast Asia and Korea, which now includes 92 hotels in operation and under development.

Though under the same umbrella, Hotel Indigo Bali Ubud will have its own unique feel and customer experience and will not be linked to Kimpton Bali Ubud.

Hotel Indigo Bali Ubud is set to be built in the village land surrounding the world-famous Blangsinga Waterfall. The hotel will be close to local craft markets, Ubud’s popular shopping streets, and the popular Blangsinga Glass Bridge, which offers stunning views over the valley.

The property site is adjacent to an ancient Balinese temple and surrounded by green hills that tower over the Petanu River. IHG Hotel & Resorts has revealed that the intention behind Hotel Indigo Bali Ubud is to connect guests with Ubud’s cultural heritage, nature, and vibrant creative community.

Speaking to the media, Michella Ristiadewi, Commissioner of Ristia Group, shared her enthusiasm for collaborating with IHG Hotel & Resorts on this new project.

She shared, “Hotel Indigo will showcase the uniqueness of the Ubud area, from its waterfalls and temples to its rich local arts and culture. We want this hotel to be an attractive destination for both domestic and international tourists.”

While the opening is still two years away, IHG Hotel & Resorts has revealed some of the most important details for prospective travelers. The Indigo Hotel Bali Ubud will feature 130 rooms and offer a full program of authentic and immersive experiences for guests, including personalised local guiding, interactive social experiences, and a big focus on culinary experiences too.
