Pakistan Railways on Saturday has suspended all train services operating from Quetta, both within Balochistan and to other parts of the country.
According to railway officials, the suspension affects major routes including the Jaffer Express to Punjab, the Bolan Mail to Karachi, the Chaman Passenger train, and services on the Zahedan section. Passengers booked on these trains have been informed that their tickets will be refunded.
Meanwhile, the Jaffer Express traveling from Peshawar to Quetta was stopped at Jacobabad Station in Sindh after it failed to receive security clearance. More than 400 passengers on board were sent back, forcing many to arrange alternative transportation at significantly higher costs.
The halt in train operations has caused widespread inconvenience for travelers as security measures remain in effect across Quetta.
In addition, authorities also suspended mobile data services across the city on Saturday for security reasons. The indefinite shutdown of mobile internet has further disrupted daily life for residents amid continued heightened security.
