Rawalpindi Metro Bus Service has reduced its operating hours under the government’s energy conservation program, with one hour cut from night operations.
Under the revised schedule, the service will now close at 9:00 pm, while metro stations will remain open until 9:40 pm. The last bus will depart at 9:00 pm from both Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
The adjustment comes as part of broader energy-saving measures introduced by the government amid concerns over fuel consumption.
Authorities have cited the global fuel situation, where several countries are facing shortages and long queues at petrol stations, while maintaining that Pakistan’s petroleum supply remains under control.
The government has urged the public to cooperate with conservation measures, emphasizing efficient use of energy resources.
