Ryanair is exerting pressure to secure favorable terms for its presence at Thessaloniki airport.
The low-cost airline is even leaving open the possibility of withdrawing its hub. It strongly disagrees with the increase in airport fees decided by the operator Fraport.
Although the fees are set on an annual basis uniformly for all airlines, Ryanair has consistently sought to keep operating costs as low as possible. When the Irish carrier was informed of the fee increase a few months ago, it appealed to the Civil Aviation Authority, which rejected the request. Since then, it has raised the possibility of leaving Thessaloniki.
