SINGAPORE- Singapore Airlines (SQ) will introduce its Airbus A350 Long Haul aircraft on selected flights between Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) and Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) starting 29 March 2026.
The aircraft upgrade will operate on the SQ912/SQ919 rotation, bringing the airline’s 2013 long-haul Business Class seats and a Premium Economy cabin to the Singapore–Manila route.

Singapore Airlines A350 to Manila
Singapore Airlines will upgrade one of its five daily flights between Singapore and Manila with the Airbus A350 Long Haul variant beginning 29 March 2026. The change replaces the Airbus A350 Medium Haul aircraft currently operating the SQ912 and SQ919 services, Mainly Miles reported.
This marks the first time the airline’s long-haul Business Class product will operate regularly on the Manila route.
The aircraft features the 2013 Business Class seat, which many travelers consider wider and more spacious than the newer 2018 Regional Business Class seats used on other flights to Manila.
The aircraft configuration also increases premium cabin capacity slightly. The Airbus A350 Long Haul provides 14 additional Business Class seats per week in each direction compared with the medium-haul version.
Singapore Airlines increased its Manila schedule to five daily flights in 2025 after Jetstar ended its 18-weekly services between the two cities. The latest aircraft upgrade adds a more premium option on the route without changing overall flight frequency.

From 29 March to 30 April 2026, the Airbus A350 Long Haul will operate the SQ912 and SQ919 flights five days per week. The aircraft will not operate on Wednesdays and Sundays during this period, when the Airbus A350 Medium Haul will continue to serve the route.

Singapore Airlines also operates other daily services on the route using the Airbus A350 Medium Haul and Boeing 787-10 aircraft.

Premium Economy Cabin Offered on Short-Haul Flights
The Airbus A350 Long Haul features three cabins: Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class. On the Singapore–Manila route, Singapore Airlines will sell Premium Economy seats as Economy Class with an optional seat selection fee.
Passengers who choose these seats receive additional space but no upgraded onboard service. The airline applies the same approach on several short regional routes using aircraft equipped with Premium Economy cabins.
Key seat features include:
- 38-inch seat pitch, six inches more than Economy
- 19-inch seat width
- Eight-inch recline
- 2-4-2 seating layout compared with 3-3-3 in Economy
- 13.3-inch HD entertainment screen
- Calf rest and footrest
- Two USB ports and an AC power outlet
- Adjustable reading light
The layout also allows paired window seats, a feature often preferred by couples traveling together.
Seat selection in the Premium Economy section typically costs about US$30 for standard seats and US$55 for extra-legroom seats, depending on KrisFlyer membership status. PPS Club members receive complimentary seat selection in this cabin.
Passengers may also secure these seats without paying the fee when online check-in opens 48 hours before departure, provided seats remain available.

KrisFlyer Award Redemption Options
KrisFlyer members can redeem miles for Singapore–Manila flights, including services operated by the Airbus A350 Long Haul.
Typical one-way redemption rates include:
- Economy Class: 13,000 miles (Saver)
- Business Class: 25,000 miles (Saver)
Taxes and fees typically total around S$65 from Singapore to Manila and about S$20 for the return flight.
The route frequently appears in Singapore Airlines’ Spontaneous Escapes promotions, offering discounted award rates for selected flights.

Future Cabin Upgrades on A350 Long-Haul Fleet
Singapore Airlines plans to introduce a new suite-style Business Class product on its Airbus A350 Long Haul aircraft starting in the second quarter of 2026.
The airline intends to retrofit the entire A350 Long Haul fleet with the new cabins by 2030. While the upgraded aircraft could appear on regional routes, major long-haul destinations such as London are more likely to receive the product first.
For now, the Manila service will continue using the existing 2013 Business Class seats on the upgraded aircraft.

Bottom Line
Singapore Airlines will deploy the Airbus A350 Long Haul aircraft on selected Singapore–Manila flights beginning 29 March 2026. The upgrade introduces the airline’s long-haul Business Class seats and a Premium Economy cabin to the route.
The change provides passengers with a more spacious premium cabin option while maintaining the airline’s five daily flights between the two cities.
